Assignment: Choose one assignment to complete-due tomorrow.
Write a retelling of the events of the trial (chapter 17) from a main character’s perspective (Atticus, Tom, Bob, etc.) Use details from the book.
OR Draw a detailed courtroom scene (chp 17) from a character’s perspective. Use details from the book.
Read chapter 18. Focus: What is revealed in Mayella’s testimony and Atticus’s questioning of Tom Robinson?

SSR. Passed out grade/progress reports to check on missing work. If your assignments have either an “M” or are empty, you need to get them to me for some/minimal credit! If you were absent and need to make up an assignment/quiz, make arrangements with me ASAP.
Wrote focus question 21 (page 2 in orange packet). Have ready to turn in by Monday.
Began chapter 16…find three vocab words for vocab log. Focus for reading: pay attention to the details of the setting inside and outside the courtroom.
FINISH CHAPTER 16 FOR HOMEWORK. (Be prepared!)

Explanation of new vocabulary procedure: from chapter 15 on, you will be finding and recording your own vocab words. Find THREE vocab words per chapter, write them down in your vocab logs. YOU are responsible for looking up and learning the definitions, parts of speech, and for recording the page #s.
Read chapter 15: focus is “How might the children’s attitude change towards Atticus because of the events in this chapter?” Finish 15 for homework and find THREE vocab words and record!

We took a chapter 13 pop quiz and corrected it in class. SSR.
Updated character charts in tan packet…have all characters done through Mrs. Dubose.
We then did Quickwrite 7-8: Think of a time in your past when you wanted to run away. What happened? What did you do? What point were you trying to make?
Vocab quiz over 9-13 tomorrow…study!
Began chapter 14…finish for homework.
